Weatherhaven Receives First Place Award at Arctic Summit 2026

24 February 2026

Weatherhaven is proud to congratulate Sweena Chatha and the entire team on receiving First Place in the Build the North competition at Arctic Summit 2026, held in Whitehorse, Yukon.

The theme of this year’s Summit, Securing Sovereignty and Investment, brought together northern and circumpolar leaders to address some of the Arctic’s most pressing challenges and opportunities. Discussions focused on sovereignty, security, infrastructure, and critical resources, advancing a shared vision for a resilient, self-determined North.

Sponsored by Dominion Dynamics, the Build the North pitch competition invited innovators and solution providers to present technologies and capabilities that can help strengthen and expand Arctic capacity. Weatherhaven’s winning submission showcased a modular redeployable infrastructure solution designed specifically for the unique demands of northern and remote operations.

The solution can be rapidly deployed, reconfigured, and relocated as operational requirements evolve. Engineered for extreme environments, it is capable of withstanding snow loads of up to 16 lb/ft² and has been tested and proven by the Canadian Armed Forces to operate reliably in temperatures as low as -50°C.

This recognition highlights Weatherhaven’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovative, field-proven infrastructure solutions that support sovereignty, operational readiness, and sustainable development across Canada’s North and other challenging environments worldwide.
