Military Camp – Shelter Categories

The most common types of shelter categories that are suitable for military use include:

Soft-Wall Accommodation Units
The Weatherhaven Series 4, Series 8, and MTS shelters are commonly used as accommodation units. These shelters can be fully or partially insulated, and have many door, window, floor, electrical, and mechanical options.

Soft-Wall Maintenance Shops
Rugged in design, the Series 4 Shop and MEX-26 shelters are the standard deployable solutions for helicopter and vehicle maintenance and storage. These shelters come with special lighting kits and have a spacious interior for conducting repairs. Our MECC™ workshops are also very popular for military use.

Special-Purpose MECC™ and HERCon Configurations

In camp applications, the MECC™ is commonly used for ablutions, kitchens, laundry facilities, command posts, and specialty workshops, such as tool cribs, tire maintenance facilities, and electronic repair facilities.

The new HERCon shelter adds a hard-wall solution to the Weatherhaven product line. It can be used for accommodations, offices, medical facilities, and numerous other applications.

Hangar Systems
We offer larger frontline and second-line aircraft hangars in addition to our regular product line. These large tactical hangars are rugged in design, spacious enough for repair and refueling, and offer high stability. The aircraft hangars can be linked to and deployed with a MECC™ tool crib, operations centre, and containerized Environmental Control Unit (ECU) and generator to provide a turnkey stand-alone system.

Military Camp – Deployment Configurations

Weatherhaven has extensive experience designing and building military camps. Some of our typical deployment scenarios include:

Tagalong Deployment
The tagalong camp simply adds infrastructure to an existing camp, increasing the operational capability to accommodate more personnel. It might also mean increasing the number of bed spaces, ablution units, workshops, and security for the additional personnel.

Green-Field or Brown-Field Base Deployment
This deployment consists of a self-supporting, complete turnkey camp, as it will be set up in a remote site – either a barren desert or a green field. These camps are designed to meet the environmental conditions encountered in the area. The primary camp features consist of accommodation and ablution modules, augmented by a kitchen, dining hall, offices, recreation centre, and various support facilities.

Tactical Systems and Operation Centres
We specialize in tactical operation centres that consist of command and control headquarters. These centres generally require the integration of heavy-duty mechanical and electrical systems with the shelters. The MTS, MECC™, and HERCon shelters are ideal for these applications, especially the MTS and MECC™, which can be joined together to form a complex so that personnel do not need to go outside to move from one shelter to another. These shelters can also be customized in various configurations to meet your particular requirements.
